Walks
public transport serves the Moss Valley

We arrange a number of informal walks in the Moss Valley for our customers, their family & friends. The walks start on the Gate Inn car park at 10.00 am and are usually between 5 & 8 miles. Full details can be found on our Blog - click here to visit

The Moss Valley has numerous walks varying in degree and length, from a gentle stroll to a circular walk of ten miles or more. Walkers are most welcome at the Gate Inn, Troway where in addition to our selection of real ales, good lager, wine and spirits we serve tea, coffee and hot chocolate.

The area borders on two OS Explorer TM 269 & 278 maps and the Ordnance Survey Solution Centre have kindly produced an extract map of the Moss Valley area, click here for more information.

The edge of the Valley is reasonably well serviced by public transport. Supertram runs on the northern side from Gleadless Townend to Crystal Peaks and there are 252 circular buses in both directions Monday to Saturday from Crystal Peaks via Ford and Marsh Lane to the City Centre.

There is a limited 253 service to Apperknowle, Dronfield and Holmesfield.

A number of walks in the Moss Valley around the Gate Inn at Troway can be navigated by use of the extract map mentioned above. To see a few suggested walks with images please click here.
